Are you hanging a flag and aren’t sure of the proper positioning? Remember this easy tip– the right-hand side is the position of honor. So when displaying the US flag with a state flag (or other “lower ranking” flag), the US flag goes on the right side (from the speaker’s perspective). This rule works even if there is technically no “speaker” (such as your front yard or the entrance to a building). (more…)

Are graphic scans and intimate pat-downs a “reasonable” search under the Fourth Amendment? As a quick reminder, the Fourth Amendment reads:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
